Barnsitting for the Chick-fil-A Cows

If you follow Chick-fil-A on Facebook or Twitter, you might have seen that the Eat Mor Chikin Cowz were in hiding because May is National Burger Month. Because of this, they put their barn on Homestay so that they could find trustworthy barn-sitters to watch their home while they were away.

Of course, I signed up because there is no restaurant I love more than Chick-fil-A and I was lucky enough to be selected! My family and I spent the weekend in Jasper, Georgia barnsitting and it was an amazing experience! The cowz' home is beautiful and they were such gracious hosts, making sure we had everything we could possibly need during our stay.

The kitchen + refrigerator were fully stocked with all of our favorite Chick-fil-A snacks and drinks, they provided popcorn + candy for moovie nights, and even set out all of the ingredients for making s'mores in the outdoor fireplace. Along with all of this, Chick-fil-A delivered our meals! We were in heaven!

When we weren't eating throughout the weekend, we spent our time playing tons and tons of different fun games. There was a cow-sized Jenga, Connect 4, and checkers. There was also a really fun cow version of pool - the balls were kickballs! We played Don't Tip the Cows, Farmopoly, and Bulls and Cows - a code-breaking game.

The cowz had the perfect set-up for movies featuring a projector and big screen, with movies including Babe, Charlotte's Web, Sing, and The Secret Life of Pets. We had a great movie night watching Home on the Range and enjoying popcorn.

We spent a lot of our time sitting by the outdoor fireplace, especially in the evenings. From here, we had a beautiful view of the mountains and a comfy couch for relaxing! We loved making s'mores in the fire - they were so good! It was the perfect evening activity for our beautiful location.

If you're wondering how we spent two nights in a barn, there are actually 3 bedrooms and a really nice bathroom upstairs! The beds were comfortable and the cowz were sweet enough to leave a fun surprise for each of us on our pillows.

Our barnkeeper, Debbie, told us that they had seen a bear near the woods a few nights before we arrived and sure enough, we spotted a bear outside on our second night. This is no surprise in the mountains of Georgia, but we had never seen a bear in the wild before! We were so interested, watching it from the window until it went back in the woods.

During our stay, we were able to try the new Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich and Watermelon Mint Lemonade. They're fun new editions to the menu that are perfect for summer! Be sure to give them a try while they're available.

I'm still not over the attention to detail the cowz put into their home. From their busy schedules on the calendar hanging on the wall to their unopened English grammar books, we got a full picture of their lives. The barn was perfectly clean and organized, we had everything we could ever need, and there were instructions for any activity or electronic in the barn.

Staying in the cowz barn was the most amazing experience and we're so thankful to Chick-fil-A for providing us with this opportunity and taking such good care of us throughout our weekend. We would gladly take any chance to barnsit for the cowz again! It was a super memorable Memorial Day weekend!
