This post was sponsored by Basic Invite, but thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. All images in this post are courtesy of Basic Invite. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Mads Maybe!

This time last year, I was helping my sister plan her wedding and find her dream dress. Everyone knows how important it is to secure the dress, venue, and catering plans, but confirming items like the invitations, save the dates, and thank you notes is an often overlooked step. Thanks to my Facebook memories reminding me of all the bridal expos and dress shops we visited, I've been inspired to share some important reminders with current brides!

Below, I've listed five stationery items that are essential for every wedding and beautiful options for all of these can be found on Basic Invite with nearly unlimited color options (including a new rose gold foil!) and the opportunity to receive custom samples to help you decide on your perfect design!

Save The Date Cards

Save the date cards should be sent out several months before the wedding so any bride-to-be must have these on her radar right away. Save the Dates are a necessity because they let guests know which date to mark on their calendars well in advance to avoid scheduling conflicts. Engagement pictures look great on Save the Dates and Basic Invite also offers a gorgeous array of Save the Dates printed on real wood! That's easily the most unique option I've seen and would be the perfect way to announce an outdoor wedding to guests.

Invitations are one of the most important parts of planning a wedding because they set the tone for the event - you can hint at your theme and color scheme on your invitations. Depending on the formality, you may want informal wedding invitations or you could opt for a full wedding set complete with enclosure cards for RSVPs and directions. I definitely recommend RSVP response cards so that you can keep up with an exact attendance count and know precise quantities when ordering favors, catering, and rentals.

Bridal Shower Invitations

While this may not fall under the bride-to-be's responsibilities, it wouldn't hurt to share some ideas with your maid of honor! Right now, I'm experiencing major FOMO looking at all of the cute bridal shower invites I missed out on when planning my sister's shower. The bridal shower is the perfect opportunity to be playful and showcase the bride's personality so be sure to decide on a fun theme and then customize the perfect invitation to match!

A Guest Book

It's been a few months since my sister's wedding, but we still love looking at her guest book and sharing memories while reading everyone's messages! It's never too early to pick out the perfect personalized guest book and have it ready for your big day. Design options are unlimited - you can add a photo to the cover or choose from any of Basic Invite's 50+ beautiful designs. Basic Invite guest books have a ring hidden inside that allows the book to lay perfectly flat - making it both convenient and classy!

Thank You Notes

Thank you notes may be the last thing you'll be sending out, but you'll want to keep them at the top of your list! Make sure you have your thank you notes before the wedding so that you don't have to worry about ordering when you get back from your honeymoon. With Basic Invite, you can find thank you notes that coordinate with all of your wedding stationery and use their unique address collection service to have envelopes printed for you.

For all the beautiful bride-to-be's, mother-of-the-bride's, maid of honors, and bridesmaids that might be reading this post, I hope your wedding is all that you dreamed and I hope you remember to have fun and enjoy the planning process. In the hustle and bustle of finding your dream gown and securing the perfect venue, don't forget to take time to find the stationery that will help you remember your big day for years to come.
