This personalized shampoo and conditioner set was gifted to me by Formulate for review
It's Thanksgiving week! Honestly, I'm thankful that I have a space where I can be creative and put my thoughts and ideas out in the world. I'm thankful for all of the cool people I've gotten to know through blogging and all of the great people that read my posts and engage with my social media accounts.

Today, I just wanted to sit down and talk — I think chit chat posts are becoming my favorite thing to write! I have so many miscellaneous things I want to discuss that don't need a full post so I'm going to talk about them here, catch up with some posts, and tell you about some exciting things to come!

WHAT I'VE BEEN WATCHING

I always like to give a little update on what I've been watching on Netflix, so of course, I'm going to start with that! I recently watched New York Minute with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and I forgot how good their movies were! What a classic gem. That would be a great movie to watch over Thanksgiving break if you get tired of all the Christmas movies on TV.

I've also started a new show on Netflix that kind of has similar vibes to The Office and Parks and Rec, maybe just because it's a workplace comedy. It's called Great News and, funny story, I actually started watching this show and, six episodes in, I wanted to check how many more episodes were left and realized I'd been watching season 2 the entire time. I went back and started with the actual first episode of the series and I'm enjoying it so much more now. It's not exactly amazing or on my list of Netflix favorites, but it's okay if you're interested in the other two shows that I mentioned!

I haven't been to the movies since The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, but I'm hoping to see the new Grinch movie and Ralph Breaks the Internet {Wreck It Ralph 2} this week! I'll definitely tweet my thoughts and personal reviews.

Last, but not least, if you are ready to start watching Christmas movies {or have been for weeks like me}, The Princess Switch on Netflix is so good! I really loved this movie and I'm always super conscious of bad acting in Netflix movies especially, but VANESSA HUDGENS plays the two main roles! Obviously, it's good.

WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING

I don't feel like I've been as active on social media throughout the month of November, compared to my usual habits, mainly because my brain switched into Christmas mode as soon as Halloween ended and I haven't been prioritizing true November content. One exciting thing that I was sure to mention across all of my platforms was Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday!

Y'all know how much I love Disney so this was a big day in my house. As Walt Disney said, "I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing... that it was all started by a mouse." We can't forget that all of the aspects of Disney that we love grew from one cartoon character, the one and only, Mickey Mouse!

I didn't include full sections about what I've been listening to {because that rarely changes, I'm super consistent with my old favorites} or what's new on social media {because I've been losing a good amount of followers, hopefully due to clean outs of spam and inactive accounts, so that wouldn't have been a very interesting discussion} but I did want to mention that I've been loving Instagram story templates lately! For those of you that aren't familiar with Instagram stories, they're basically a fill-in-the-blank questionnaire in fun formats to share more information about yourself with your followers! There are "describe your day in GIFs" templates and "this or that" choices that are a really fun way to introduce yourself. I hope you're a fan of those if you follow me

WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING

If you remember way back in July, I introduced you to a cool new haircare company called Formulate. They make custom shampoo and conditioner specifically for your hair, based on information you provide. It's been a few months, but I'm finally sharing my thoughts and opinions! {Again, my set was gifted to me for review.}

There was a slight delay because, to be honest, my original formula wasn't right for me. I know this isn't an exact science and my answers may have been a little off because maybe what they consider a thick strand of hair isn't the same as what I consider a thick strand of hair. We have to remember, this is a brand new company and we're all working together right now to figure things out!

I sent Formulate an email telling them that my formula wasn't working for my hair and describing exactly why — my hair didn't feel as clean or light as I liked after use and I wasn't a fan of the scent I chose {it was called Tidal}.

Within a week, I received a new set with a new formula that was adjusted based on my first experience. I had a brand new scent called Green with Envy {which was so much more pleasant than Tidal, in my opinion} and I noticed a significant difference in my shampoo and conditioner. The consistency of the two was definitely different than my first set and my hair didn't have that heavy feeling that it had before.

I've been so impressed by Formulate's customer service and their genuine desire to find the perfect match for everyone's unique hair. It may take a little trial and error, but they're prepared to adjust your formula and actively seek communication {through their app and website} so they know what's going on with your hair.

WHAT'S TO COME

Just like last year, I'm planning to do Blogmas! {25 days of blog posts, every single day from December 1 to Christmas!} I'm excited to share new versions of old favorites and completely new posts {including a full review of all the 2018 holiday movies I've watched} and I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be able to get everything done that I've got planned!

I'm also really excited to announce that I'll be doing a few holiday giveaways this year across my blog and social media platforms during the first 15 days of December so keep a close eye on things to find out how you can win! If you're not already, make sure you're following me on Instagram and Facebook and get ready for my Blogmas posts {especially DAY 1 on December 1!}.

In the meantime, have a great Thanksgiving!
