Starbucks Holiday Flavors Taste Test

by - Tuesday, December 18, 2018

You all know I'm a big Starbucks fan, so I've been working my way through the holiday flavors menu over the past few weeks so that I could do a little review and tell you my thoughts on each of their holiday flavors. I've tweeted before that I don't really love any of the holiday flavors, which is still so true! I would much rather have an iced vanilla latte or a mocha frappuccino. I'm also super picky so don't be surprised when I'm not a fan of a lot of flavors! I highly recommend trying these drinks for yourself, especially ones that sound appealing to you! I just wanted to give my thoughts — and my favorite pick! — for fun, as a Starbucks regular.

P.S. After completing this list, I definitely think the drinks taste different depending on whether you get them hot, iced, or as a frappuccino so that's something to keep in mind!

Peppermint Mocha

I tried this one iced and, to be honest, the peppermint flavor was way too strong for me. Mint isn't usually one of my go-to flavors anyways, so this was definitely a little much for me. I think it's best as a frappuccino if I remember correctly from the one I had last year!

Caramel Brûlée Latte

Starting off with the fact that I don't like caramel in general, this one is obviously not for me. I tried it as a frappuccino and its flavor is almost entirely caramel, so if you're a big caramel fan, this is the holiday flavor for you!

Toasted White Chocolate Mocha

I tried this one as a frappuccino and I would say it's my second favorite out of the holiday flavors! That's mainly because it didn't taste much different than my favorite frappuccino — mocha! There's a little extra flavor from the toasted white chocolate, but nothing too crazy or strong. I asked for no sprinkles on mine because I'm not a huge fan of eating sprinkles, although they do add a festive touch to the drink.

Eggnog Latte

I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it wasn't too different from an iced vanilla latte {I got it iced!}, the consistency was just a little thicker and there was a slightly different taste because of the eggnog.

Snickerdoodle Hot Chocolate

This has strong cinnamon flavors! If you love cinnamon and snickerdoodle cookies, I definitely recommend it. It's a nice change if you get tired of traditional hot chocolate and it's nice to have another great hot beverage option if you're not into coffee drinks.

Gingerbread Latte

This is actually my favorite holiday flavor! Last year, I wasn't a huge fan but I rarely like things on my first try so I had to give it a few chances to grow on me. I tried this one as a hot latte and I really enjoyed it. I still wouldn't pick this flavor over my regular, everyday choices, but out of the holiday flavors, this is definitely the one I prefer.
