A Decade in Review

It's so crazy that we're starting a new decade in just a few days. I still think 2008 was like 2 years ago so I don't exactly feel prepared to enter 2020. You know how at the beginning of a new year you feel pressure to make resolutions and be a better person? I'm feeling that times 10 when thinking about starting a new decade. But I'm not writing this post to speculate about what the 20s will bring. I'm writing to look back on the 2010s and recap all of the greats that this decade had to offer...

Y'all. In 2010 I was starting high school and turning 14 years old. My family took a cross country trip and drove from NC to California and back and we visited so many states and major landmarks.

– Favorite Fashion Trend of the Decade: Leggings –

One of my favorite memories from 2011 was attending the ACC men's basketball tournament in Greensboro, NC. My favorite Duke basketball player was Kyle Singler and I watched them win the championship.

– Favorite concert of the decade: Jonas Brothers, 2019 –

Remember when everyone thought the world was going to end in 2012? Crazy times. I turned 16 in Walt Disney World.

– Favorite Starbucks Drink of the Decade: Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew –

My dad and I met the Jonas Brothers and a few months later, they broke up the band. I turned 17 on a Disney cruise. We also met Katherine and Sophie of Georgetown Cupcake and watched them break the Guinness World Record for the World's Tallest Tower of Cupcakes.

– Favorite Restaurant I Visited for the First Time in this Decade: Coral Reef @ Epcot –

I graduated high school and started college at North Carolina State University. I started this blog and was one of hundreds of applicants accepted to be a Pottery Barn Dorm Ambassador.

– Favorite Tech Invention of the Decade: AirDrop between Apple Devices –

My grandma and I went on a helicopter ride to celebrate our birthdays. It was my first time flying.

– Favorite Insta-Worthy Snack of the Decade: Anything Mickey Shaped –

My family took a road trip to Pennsylvania, Niagara Falls, Boston, and most importantly, Salem, Massachusetts. I toured the filming locations of my all time favorite movie, Hocus Pocus.

– Favorite song of the decade: She Sets the City on Fire by Gavin DeGraw –

I graduated from North Carolina State University with B.S. in Business Administration and a concentration in marketing.

– Favorite TV Show of the Decade: Reign –

My family went on a Disney cruise to Alaska. This was my favorite vacation of the decade!

And we're back. I'm now working full time in the marketing department of a water solutions company. I was starting high school when this decade began and I'm ending this decade with a career and a whole lot of memories.

Who knows where the 20's will take us, but hey, let's go together, okay?
