Red Velvet Muffins | Sweet Treats

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

It's almost time for Galentine's Day + Valentine's Day! I don't know about you, but my favorite way to celebrate either occasion is with something sweet – and this year, we're all about the red velvet muffins that I'm sharing today. They're so delicious and the beautiful red color makes them perfect for all of your favorite Valentines.

1 18 oz box of red velvet cake mix (we used Betty Crocker)
2 tablespoons of AP flour
3 eggs
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon baking powder
2/3 cup dark chocolate chips
Red decorating sugar (optional)

1. Mix all of your ingredients together in a large bowl

2. Spoon into muffin tin (that has been sprayed with baking spray to prevent sticking)
Note: Heart shaped muffin tins can be found at Walmart, craft stores, and sometimes Aldi + Lidl

3. Add a few additional chocolate chips on the tops OR if you want a crisp sugar coating on the tops,
add your red sugar before baking.

4. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes

5. Enjoy!

Sending you lots of {early} Galentine's love!
