My top favorites on Disney+ - updated August 2020

TV Series

When you want to step back into your childhood...

Lizzie McGuire // Lizzie McGuire was always one of my favorites, but I definitely don't remember all the details of every episode, so I'm excited to go back through and watch them all again. [2 seasons; complete]

JONAS // I guess this one could be controversial, but I personally loved JONAS to no end. It might be a little cheesy, but any Jonas Brothers fan will take any opportunity to see them. [2 seasons; complete]

Boy Meets World // If you, like me, were a little too young to grow up watching Boy Meets World, now is a good time to go through the series. [7 seasons; complete]

Good Luck Charlie // Bridgit Mendler was the true Disney Channel queen. Don't @ me. [4 seasons; complete]

When you're in the mood for an all new series to binge...

The Mandalorian // Even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, you should watch it. Just for The Child. [1 season; ongoing]

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series //
I was skeptical about this one considering HSM was one of the most significant aspects of my childhood. My advice is don't start watching with any expectations, just start watching. [1 season; ongoing]

Into The Unknown: The Making of Frozen 2 // I know what you're thinking. A documentary series? Isn't it boring? If you enjoy Frozen at all, the answer is no. It's so interesting to see the process and the decisions made along the way. Plus, I thought it was cool getting a sneak peek into the career of animators, writers, producers, directors, etc. for Disney. [1 season; complete]

Diary of a Future President // If you enjoy watching shows centered around a family and the daily challenges they face, this is a good one. [1 season; ongoing]

Zenimation // Though not truly a series, these six minute shorts are amazing and the perfect thing to put on when you need a moment of zen. [I season; complete]

When you want a series you might have missed...

Phil of the Future // I have yet to watch Phil of the Future! I have it on the list because it's the only show I think I never watched as a child. One day, I'm watching every episode. [2 seasons; complete]

Raven's Home // If you grew up watching That's So Raven, now is a great time to find out what Raven and Chelsea are up to these days. [2 seasons; ongoing]

Movies

When you're in the mood for the best movie ever...

Hocus Pocus // Y'all knew I had to do it. Hocus Pocus is my favorite movie to ever exist and the fact that it's easily accessible to everyone all year round is the greatest blessing this streaming service could ever provide.

When you're in the mood for a good newly released film...

Onward // I've watched Onward twice already and I had no expectations for it, but I really enjoyed it. It's a cute movie!

Frozen II //
Okay, this isn't that new, but just in case someone hasn't seen it, you definitely should!

Aladdin // The live action Aladdin is worth a watch! I don't know that I would care to watch it multiple times, but I am glad I saw it.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil // Y'all! Maleficent is my favorite character and my secret identity. Please watch me in my newest movie!

When you're in the mood for a classic DCOM...

Smart House // I don't know about y'all, but I think Smart House came on Disney Channel at least once a week when I was in middle school, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Halloweentown Series // You may want to save these for October, but these are easily some of the most valuable gems on Disney+.

Geek Charming // Sarah Hyland from Modern Family stars in this DCOM from the 2010s. It's one of my favorites and worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Lemonade Mouth // This one is obvious – I know you've all seen it and are huge fans but adding it to the list for the 2% of the population that may not have watched it.

Star Struck // Okay, Star Struck is one of the best DCOMs ever made and has so many good songs.

Get A Clue // If you don't think Lindsay Lohan's Disney movies are the best, I don't know if we can be friends.

When you want action and adventure...

Avengers: Infinity War + Avengers: End Game // You technically could watch all of the Marvel movies before watching these two, or you don't have to. It's up to you. I loved Infinity War and End Game is a continuation so you really need to watch both.

Star Wars // You could also watch all of the Star Wars movies. My favorite is the Force Awakens because you may know I love Kylo Ren. I'm also a Jar Jar Binks fan.

When you want something you didn't realize was Disney...

Big Business // Originally released in the 1980s, this movie stars Bette Midler and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it for the first time in 2020!

The Princess Bride // For me, this is one of those movies I can watch one thousand times and never get tired of it. I feel so blessed that we're able to stream it whenever we want!

10 Things I Hate About You // I kind of consider this one a teen girl movie, definitely worth a watch.

Cheaper by the Dozen //
There are so many stars in Cheaper by the Dozen. It's a great family movie.

Sister Act // If you've never seen Sister Act, it's pretty good! There's also a sequel on Disney+ if you really enjoy it.

When you need the ultimate girls night movie...

Tangled // Tangled is probably my favorite princess movie.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie // I'm sure I don't have to convince anyone that this is a must-watch.

The Princess Diaries // I know this one speaks for itself, but if you haven't seen it, or if it's been a while since you have, I highly recommend it.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen // THAT GIRL WAS A ONE TIME TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN. Again, there was a time that everything Lindsay Lohan touched turned to gold.

Jonas Brothers: The Concert Experience // Maybe you have this on DVD like me, but if not, it's super iconic and well worth a watch.

Freaky Friday (Lindsay Lohan) // I think there's an older version of Freaky Friday on Disney+ as well, but you know my preference. Make sure you watch the end credits because Ultimate is one of my favorite songs.
