COVID-19 Diaries: Volume 2

I can't believe I wrote my first COVID-19 diary entry only two weeks into "quarantine" and now we're 4 months in. I guess we have a lot to catch up on. I don't know about you, but I feel like time is flying by and I can't account for the past three months?! The calendar says July, but it still feels like March in my mind.

However, I can still report that, as I said in my first diary post, I don't mind this new lifestyle a bit. I really feel like I'm thriving in a way in this environment, I'm such a homebody and I really enjoy being at home. I've been feeling really productive the past few months and my creative vibes have reignited. With these positives in mind, I have no problem refraining from eating inside of restaurants or going to the movie theater and such, and you do you, but I am very here for #StayHomeStaySafe.

But anyways, on to the juicy stuff. In case you missed it on Instagram, I temporarily dyed my hair pink! Gotta love quarantine trends. I used this Kristin Ess Rose Gold Temporary tint which washed completely out in 2-3 washes. It is definitely fun if you have a special occasion or just want to have a fun photo shoot, but it does only work on hair that is already lightened.

It wouldn't be a chit chat post if I didn't talk about what I've been watching! I've been hooked on The Bold Type recently which you can stream on Hulu or watch on Freeform. My family recently watched Hamilton on Disney+ and I will say it is worth a watch, if nothing else just so you can know what everyone is talking about it when it is referenced! I never thought I'd say this and completely avoided watching it, but my brother was watching The Floor is Lava on Netflix while we were sitting on the couch together and I was instantly hooked on that show too. The one good thing about not being able to go anywhere is that there are so many good shows and movies available to watch!

When you're tired of streaming, there's tons of content you can browse on social media. Over on Instagram, I've had a lot of fun things going on. I post interactive games on my story once a week so there's always some entertainment to look forward to if you're bored — if you aren't yet following me, I'm @madisoncarter12. I've also done a few giveaways recently so that's also something exciting to keep an eye out for on the 'gram!

Oh and can we just talk about the fact that Midnight Sun is being released on August 4! I know if you follow me on anything, you know I'm a huge fan of the Twilight saga and this just makes my life. I am SO excited to read it. Welcome to the Twilight renaissance, ladies!

I don't read much honestly, but I did read a book during quarantine already! It was called When Life Gives You LuluLemons by Lauren Weisberger and is kind of a spin-off of The Devil Wears Prada. It follows the life of Emily Charlton and her friends. If you loved The Devil Wears Prada, you should definitely check it out, it would be a fun read for you.

Lastly, I have some blog posts in the works as well, I know they've been few and far between recently but I worked on putting a calendar together and am hoping to start posting weekly again soon. I have so many posts in the works that are partially completed and just haven't been coming together as quickly as I would like.
